This country, the Republic of Indonesia does not belong to any group, nor to any religion, nor to any ethic group, nor to any group with costumes and traditions, but the property of all of us from Sabang to Merauke!
- Soekarno, Founding Father of Indonesia
Born and raised in Indonesia, we are taught to be tolerant since a kid. As a multicultural nation, it is important to respect each other because we’re all equal in God’s eyes. The differences make us complete as a nation. Therefor we, Indonesian, no matter what ethic we belong to, have to stand for the unity of our country.
As our founding father said, Indonesia is the property of all of us from Sabang to Merauke. Our ancestor did not fight for this country for one group, nor one religion, nor one ethnic; but for all of them in Indonesia. Let’s not forget this and support our country to be better. Merdeka!
